According to a hadith, the moment a baby comes out of the womb, it cries because its been pricked by shaytan.⁣⁣⁣⁣ That's how much of an enemy he is. ⁣⁣⁣⁣From the moment the child is born, a shaytan has been assigned to lead him or her to darkness.⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣
Iblis refused to prostrate to Adam (AS). His arrogance made him think he was from a better creation.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
"I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
His arrogance and disobedience got him expelled from Jannah... and Cursed. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣But he asked Allah (swt) for respite (postpone the punishment) until the day of Judgement. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Allah (swt) granted the respite. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Iblis then promised: "By Your might, I will surely mislead them all..."⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣This is his sole purpose. Iblis has assigned one shaytan to each of us. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
So the next time, we decide to disobey, remember that we're fulfilling his promise to Allah. We're falling in the trap.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣Its heartbreaking to see these phrases trending on social media amongst the youth: ⁣⁣⁣

"who are you to judge me?, omg the haram police is here, let God be the judge, ignore the haters and go watch your own sins etc." You get the point.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
The truth is, if we knew what pleased and displeased Allah, we wouldn't defend our actions with arrogance. That's following Shaytans footsteps.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Instead, the advice would hurt our hearts because deep down we know were in the wrong but our reaction would be filled with an awkward silence perhaps.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣It would be a feeling of uneasiness as we realize we've been corrected.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Perhaps the correct response would be for us to ask for prayers to strengthen our Imaan. So that we may be blessed with the ability to be a better believer. It can be intimidating. But Islam is an easy religion. We just have to ask Him for help.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Until we don't accept that we're all the children of Adam (AS), and on a journey together. Any advice given will always be met with arrogance rather than humility.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Its natural for us to become defensive. But this path that we're going down looks very dangerous 😔 ..what happened to fear? Its almost like we believe we're invincible. Astagfirullah
