Significance of travel in Islam
"Subhanallah, Alhumdulillah, Allahuakbar."
This is a print of an Islamic painting by Saleha
The following tasbihs are painted:
Subhan Allah (سبحان الله): Meaning Allah is perfect in an absolute sense
Alhamdulillah (الحمد لله): Meaning all praise and thanks belong to Allah alone because He is the creator of everything.
Allahu Akbar (الله أكبر): Meaning Allah is greater than everything
The Story
This painting is my humble attempt to symbolize the beauty of his creation by depicting the galaxy, land, and ocean. Many verses in the Qur'an remind us to reflect on what has been created on earth and in the heavens. So travel to appreciate his creation and seek closeness through what you see, hear and experience- it can be a great spiritual process. Muslims are encouraged to travel. Having the right mindset when embarking on a journey can fundamentally transform one's existence. "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allah will produce the final creation. Indeed Allah, over all things, is competent." 29:20
