Symbolize Angel Jibreel AS beauty and significance of Laylatul Qadr
The Story
My very humble attempt to symbolize Angel Jibreel AS wings through my abstract style. Angel Jibreel AS is the first being that Allah swt ever gave life to. He was created before heaven & hell as per the hadith recorded in Bukhari.
The Prophet PBUH only saw Jibreel AS in his original form twice. He had 600 wings, which covered the horizon between the sky & the earth. Pearls and diamonds dripped from his wings. Jibreel AS was the wali of the Prophet PBUH.
This painting was inspired by the hadith of Jibreel AS & Laylatul Qadr (night of decree). Allah swt has blessed Ramadan with Laylatul Qadr, which is the best night of the year & worship on this night is better than worshipping for a thousand months. So on this Night, Jibreel AS, who revealed the Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad PBUH – descends every year to the earth with many angels to give Salam to the believers that are awake worshipping. What an honor. The thought of being asleep during this special occasion is daunting. So I began painting this in Ramadhan to serve as a reminder of this hadith & the beauty of the big night
