Everything you need to know before you bid: how the auction works, how to pay, and how your painting reaches you. Please read it all before you join.

How to bid

Create your account
Tap Account and add your contact details before the auction opens, so you don't miss a bid. If you bid first, you'll be asked to add them then.

Find your painting
Tap Join the Auction to see every painting with its current bid. Open a painting to see all the bids placed on it.

Place your bid
Bid from the collection page or from a painting's own page. Bids update in real time, and you can stay anonymous on the public site.

Follow along
You'll get an email each time your bid goes through and if someone outbids you. Tap My Account to see your bid history.
Good to know
While you bid
Green or red
Green means you're the highest bidder. Red means you've been outbid.
Proxy bidding
Enter the most you're willing to pay. It stays hidden from other bidders, and the system raises your bid for you, step by step, up to that amount. If someone goes higher, you'll get an email.
The last 5 minutes
Any bid in the last 5 minutes adds 2 minutes to the timer, until the bids stop. No one can snipe a painting at the last second, and everyone gets a fair chance.
Refresh near the end
With many people bidding at once, browsers can be slow to show the latest bids. Refresh the page often in the final minutes.
After the auction
Winning & payment
If you win
You'll get an automatic confirmation email as soon as the auction closes, then a personal email from me. Your invoice follows in a separate email, with the winning bid plus crating and delivery.
Runner-up bidder
If the winning bid isn't paid in time, the painting may be offered by email to the next highest bidder. They confirm before an invoice is sent.
Certificate of Authenticity
Every original comes with a signed certificate, mailed to you separately from the painting.

Every painting ships from my studio in Toronto, Canada. It's professionally crated and sent by freight, and we'll go over delivery options with you after the auction.

Original artwork usually has no duties when it enters the US or UK for personal use. If your country charges taxes, tariffs or duties, these are the collector's responsibility. We prepare all the paperwork and will contact you if any documents are needed.

Before the auctionHow do I join the auction?
Tap Join the Auction at the top of this page once the auction link is shared. It takes you to the auction collection, where every painting is listed with its current bid.

Collectors in the United States, Europe, Canada and the Middle East.
Before the auctionDo I need an account?
Yes. You need an account with your contact details to bid. When you place your first bid, you'll be taken to your profile to add them.
If you plan to join once the auction has started, create your account ahead of time (tap Account) so you don't miss a bid.
Before the auctionCan I bid anonymously?
Yes. You can choose to stay anonymous on the public site while you bid.
BiddingWhat is proxy bidding?
Enter the most you're willing to pay for a painting. This amount stays hidden from other bidders. When someone bids, the system raises your bid step by step for you, up to your maximum. If someone goes above your maximum, you'll get an email.
BiddingWhat happens in the last 5 minutes?
Any bid placed in the last 5 minutes adds 2 more minutes to the timer. This continues until no more bids come in, so no one can snipe a painting at the last second and everyone has a fair chance to bid.
After the auctionHow will I know if I've won?
You'll receive an automatic confirmation email as soon as the auction closes, followed by a personal email from me.
A separate email will include your invoice with the winning bid plus the crating and delivery fees listed above.
After the auctionHow do I pay?
Wire transfer: no fees. Please send confirmation of the transfer within 48 hours of the auction closing. If you need more time, just let me know.
Credit card: I'll send you a payment link. A 3.5% fee applies to USD payments to cover Shopify's processing charges, or 5% for other currencies to also cover the conversion fee.
No taxes are added for buyers outside Canada.

The painting may be offered by email to the next highest bidder. They'll need to confirm they accept before an invoice is sent.
ShippingHow is the painting shipped?
All paintings ship from Toronto, Canada. Each one is professionally crated for safe freight shipping, which takes up to 5 business days to prepare. We'll go over delivery options with you after the auction.
ShippingWill I pay duties or import taxes?
Usually there are no duties on original artwork entering the US or UK for personal use. If your country charges taxes, tariffs or duties, these are the collector's responsibility. We'll prepare all the paperwork and contact you if any documents are needed.
